It took me awhile to get to this blog post because I wanted it to be perfect. Okay, it may not be perfect, but I wanted to take my time and make sure I described it exactly how I experienced it. Several months ago I started to brainstorm about a photo session...something out of my normal routine and different than anything else I've done so far. Hopefully, a starting point for things to come! After shooting a wedding at The Omni Hotel in October, I knew the perfect setting for this shoot would be downtown San Diego...an urban setting with a ton of fresh backgrounds, colors and style...and a place that I rarely get to shoot.
Next up, I needed a couple to be our models. This was difficult not because I couldn't find an attractive couple to work with (they are everywhere in SD!)...but I wanted a couple that has great style, are totally in love and would rock it out! I didn't need to go far to find the perfect couple...Mandi & Jer. I've known Mandi & Jer since they moved to SD with a group of friends who started our church more than six years ago. Mandi has been a great friend who I've gotten to know more through our bible studies, girls nights and countless women's ministry meetings! :) These two have been married for eight years and to me, are a true example of love, friendship, companionship and FUN. They didn't have the money to spend on a professional photographer for their wedding and had a friend take their pictures...so after all this time, I knew they would be the perfect fit for this session.
Enough of my rambling for now...on to the important stuff...the photos! Forgive me, I couldn't narrow them down...so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Mandi - you're gorgeous!

They are just too cute...LOVE.

Rawwr...

Work it, Jer. Work. it.

Seriously, they should be models.

Random Vespa to conclude our session??! Yes please!!

H.O.T.

Mandi & Jer - thank you so much for an amazing day! We all had so much fun and would have taken pictures of you for hours if the gloomy weather hadn't darkened our day. :) Love you!
Also, the day wouldn't have been complete without another amazing photographer, Evan Yamada. Thank you for collaborating with me on this shoot and sharing your creative ideas...the day couldn't have been better!
And last, but certainly not least...we couldn't have survived the afternoon without our amazing assistant, Emily! Emily, you were such a trooper and thank you so much for spending your afternoon with us! You are awesome!
